What Is Verb?
A verb is a word that expresses an action, a state of being, or a relation between two things. It is an essential part of a sentence, and can be either an action word, such as “run,” or a state–of–being word, such as “exist.”
Different Type Of Verb?
1. Action Verbs:
These verbs describe physical or mental actions and are the most common type of verb. Examples include: run, jump, think, believe, eat, speak, and so on.
2. Linking Verbs:
These verbs connect the subject of a sentence to an adjective, adverb, or noun. Examples include: be, appear, become, seem, look, feel, and so on.
3. Helping Verbs (also known as auxiliary verbs):
These verbs are used to form the tenses, moods, and voices of other verbs. Examples include: can, could, will, would, may, might, must, and so on.
4. Transitive Verbs:
These verbs require an object to complete their meaning. Examples include: bring, write, carry, show, and so on.
5. Intransitive Verbs:
These verbs don’t require an object to complete their meaning. Examples include: sleep, arrive, walk, wander, and so on.
